Charlies Creek Farm has a relaxed atmosphere, so there’s no need to dress up for dinner. However, we may occasionally host formal or themed evenings, and you will be notified of these events when you book.
Located high in the Macedon Ranges, temperatures here are often 2 to 5 degrees cooler than in Melbourne. We recommend bringing cool clothing and jackets or beanies if you plan to explore the farm. Inside the farmhouse and guest cottages, it is always warm and toasty, with room temperatures adjustable for your comfort.
On pleasant evenings, we often gather outside around a fire pit, so please be aware that your clothes might pick up a bit of smoke smell.
MEALS
For day classes, lunch is provided for all attendees.
Guests staying in-house will enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and drinks. We emphasize plant-based meals using ingredients sourced from local farmers' markets and specialist suppliers. All meals are prepared on-site.
ACTIVITIES
Charlies Creek Farm spans 200 acres, including a large rural conservation zone. The property is hilly and offers a variety of bushwalking opportunities. You can enjoy gentle walks along Charlies Creek or, for a more adventurous experience, tackle hill climbs that lead to the back paddock. If walking isn't your preference, we also offer farm vehicle tours.
Inside the house, you’ll find a large selection of board games and books. The main lounge features a large-screen TV with access to all streaming services.

PETS
We share our home with an indoor cat and three small dogs, who you’ll often find cosily bundled in their baskets inside the studio while we work. Rest assured, they will never have access to your bedroom. Outside, we have cows and horses, whose paddocks are off-limits to guests, but you’re welcome to interact with them from the other side of the fence during your outdoor time.
While we love animals, we kindly ask that guests do not bring their pets to The Millinery Retreat. Our own pets help create a warm and peaceful environment, and we appreciate your understanding.
