Charlies Creek Farm is a very relaxed atmosphere and there is no need to dress up for dinner during your stay.

We will on occasion host formal or themed evenings and notification of this will be made during your booking.

As we are located high up in the Macedon Ranges the temperatures are often 2 to 5 degrees lower than Melbourne so you will need cool clothing and jackets/beanies for those wishing to venture outside and explore our farm.  However, it is always warm and toasty inside the farmhouse and guest cottages with you able to control your own room temperatures.

When we have good evening weather we often sit outside for drinks around a fire pit so just be award your clothes could get a bit of smoke smell on them.

Charlies Creek Farm is a 200 acre farm which includes quite a large rural conservation zone, it is a very hilly property and you can bush walk as little or as much as you wish during your stay. There are some wonderful walks down by Charlies Creek and for the more adventures further hill climbs will take you to back paddock.  If you are not up for walking we have farm vehicles that we will use to take you on farm tours during your stay.

In house there is a large selection of board games and books.  In the main lounge there is a large screen TV with all streaming services accessible.

Our farm is located 4 kilometres from Riddells Creek and 6 kilometres from Romsey where you can find post offices, grocery stores, a wine shop, cafes and several other amenities.  We are happy to run you into town if there is something that you need.  For those that drive themselves to the retreat we also have the larger towns of Gisborne (9kms) and Woodend (20kms).

We have a washing machine, drier and iron station available for guest use.

All workshops begin at 10am and we ask all attendees of daily classes to arrive no later than 9.45am.

Those staying for overnight retreats will be informed of their schedule, including arrival and departure times when booking retreats.

We are unable to offer airport transfers.  The cost to take an Uber/Taxi from Melbourne Airport to Charlies Creek Farm is an average $90.

All workshops must be paid for upfront when booking through our website.

Payments made for workshops are non-refundable however, if you are unable to make the workshop, we will offer you an alternative date.

Gift vouchers are sold with a 3-year expiry date.

A full refund will be given in the unlikely event that a workshop has to be cancelled by us.

If we are unable to run the class due to a government lockdown you will be eligible for a full refund.

If your work hasn’t dried or you cannot fit everything into your suitcase at the end of your stay postage can be organised to ship your items home.  A receipt for your postal costs will be forwarded to you for reimbursing to The Millinery Retreat.

For those travelling from outside of Australia to attend our retreat we strongly recommend you have appropriate travel and cancellation insurance so that you are compensated if you find you have to cancel your trip.

We have an indoor cat and three small dogs that you will often find bundled up in their baskets inside the studio while we are working.  They will never be given access to your bedroom.  Outside we have cows and horses, their paddocks are strictly off limits to our guests, however you are welcome to interact with them from the other side of the fence when enjoying some outside time.
