Hat Block of the Week Vintage Low Turban

Some blocks earn their place through drama - others through reliability.  This low-crown turban block is firmly the latter.  It's a shape I return to again and again, both for my own hats and within my collections, because it consistently produces an elegant, timeless result.

The maker of this block is unkown, I purchased this from Germany many years ago, and despite its mysterious originals, it has become one of the most frequently used blocks in my studio.  It responds particularly well to star, which settles naturally into the sweeping curves and folds that define a classic turban silhouette.
