Hat Block of the Week Vintage Hostess Crown

Some blocks are defined by drama, others by quiet elegance. This classic hostess crown belongs firmly in the second category.  With its refined proportions and beautifully balance profiled, it's a shape that feels timeless, polished and endlessly wearable.

This block was made by La Mode Hat Blocks Co, a mid-20th-century American maker known for producing beautifully crafted, highly functional forms.  The crown has a subtle rise through the back and a gentle centre curve, giving it an understated lift that sits comfortably and looks elegant from every angle. It's a block that works equally well in straw or felt, adapting easilly to both crispy and softer finishes.
