Join us for an immersive day at The Millinery Retreat - a unique experience designed for experienced milliners to access a diverse range of hat blocks in a relaxed, creative setting, using our extensive collection of over 600 hat blocks, including vintage, one-of-a-kind, and all the modern shapes. You’ll have access to all the essential tools you need: steamers, irons, blocking cords, blocking pins and hair driers. This is a self-guided block experience so you’ll need experience to use the blocks independently, as no formal tuition in provided. You’ll have the freedom to shape as many hats as you wish, with the flexibility to return the next day, if required, to remove your shapes from the blocks one they’ve dried to take them home with you to complete your projects in your own workspace. Possum Ball will be on hand to offer guidance to you with any hat blocks shapes you are unfamiliar with. Spaces are limited to four people per session.
What’s included:
Use of over 600 hat blocks, including contemporary shapes. Access to essential equipment (steamers, irons, blocking cords, blocking pins, and hair dryers). Lunch is provided. Option to return the following day to remove your shapes.
Note:
There are no materials included in this course, please bring your own selection of blocking materials.
Pricing:
$200 per person for this block session (10am to 5pm) includes lunch and refreshments. This charge includes the option to return the following day to remove your blocked pieces if you have not taken them all with you on the day. Bookings via email with full payment to be made on confirmation.
Accommodation:
$200 per room per night (includes all meals) so you can bring a friend and share a room for $100 per person per night. In the farm house we have two guest rooms, each with two king single beds and private ensuite and two guest cottages with queen bed, king single beds and private ensuites.

Travelling from interstate?
Bring folded hat boxes (or I can sell you hat boxes) and we can organise postage of your pieces back to you if there isn’t room in suitcase for all your blocked pieces. Uber/Taxi cost from airport to farm is roughly $65.
